A portable BIOS and UEFI backup tool for Windows x64.
Version 1.0.0-public · GitHub release · SHA-256 checksum
Back up your BIOS firmware
Save a BIOS ROM file or collect additional firmware information, including SMBIOS and ACPI tables. Review the coverage report to understand whether the tool captured a full image or only an accessible region.
How to use ROM-BIOS
- Download and run the executable on the PC you want to back up. Administrator access may be required.
- Choose DUMP BIOS ROM and select where to save the file, or choose Back up everything.
- Read the completion message and coverage report. Keep your backup in a safe, private location.
What is included in the public edition?
Firmware backup and coverage reporting. Password-hash extraction is not included. SHA-256 file checksums are included for backup integrity.
Will it work on my Toughbook?
Compatibility depends on the model, BIOS version, available reader tools and hardware protections. Some computers allow only a partial BIOS-region read; others block software reads. A complete dump is not guaranteed.
Here for BIOS password recovery, not a backup? The supported Toughbook models list shows which families the recovery service covers, and How It Works sets out the steps.
Do I need to install .NET?
No separate .NET installation is required. This download is a self-contained Windows x64 executable.
